چکیده

Objective To assess the computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance (MR) imaging characteristics of soft tissue rhabdoid tumors (RT) compare them with those rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS). Methods We conducted a retrospective analysis 49 pediatric patients from 2011 to 2022, comprising 16 RT 33 RMS who underwent CT or MRI scans. Key features, as well clinical pathological data, were compared between two groups. The multivariate logistic regression was used determine independent differential factors for distinguishing RMS, model established. final prediction visualized by nomograms verified internally using bootstrapped resample 1,000 times. diagnostic accuracy combined assessed in terms discrimination, calibration, utility. Results Age, sex, number lesions, primary locations similar both characteristics, including margin, calcification, surrounding blood vessels, rim enhancement, associated groups tumors, determined univariate (all p < 0.05). On analysis, presence unclear margin ( -value, adjusted odds ratio [95% confidence interval]: 0.03, 7.96 [1.23, 51.67]) calcification (0.012, 30.37 [2.09, 440.70]) predicting over RMS. enhancement (0.007, 0.05 [0.01, 0.43]) an factor RT. comprehensive established showed AUC 0.872 81.8% specificity 81.3% sensitivity. decision curve (DCA) displayed that achieved better net benefit. Conclusion Our study revealed image features indistinct margins, lack on might be reliable distinguish

Subcutaneous Soft Tissue Sarcoma with Rhabdoid Features in a Dog

A nine-year-old male beagle dog had a white spherical mass in the subcutis of the left lumbar region. Microscopically, spindle to oval cells diffusely proliferated in the fibrous and myxoid stroma. Many neoplastic cells showed rhabdoid features or vacuolated cytoplasm. Immunohistochemically, the neoplastic cells were positive for vimentin and S100 and partly positive for neuron-specific enolase...

Atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumors in adult patients: CT and MR imaging features.

Primary AT/RT is a rare highly malignant tumor of the CNS, usually occurring in children younger than 5 years of age. The objective of this study was to characterize the CT and MR imaging findings in a series of 5 adult patients with pathologically proved AT/RT. All 5 AT/RTs were supratentorial. In 2 patients who underwent nonenhanced CT, the tumors appeared isoattenuated, and 1 of the 2 tumors...

CT and MR imaging features in phosphaturic mesenchymal tumor-mixed connective tissue: A case report

Phosphaturic mesenchymal tumor-mixed connective tissue (PMT-MCT) is rare and usually benign and slow-growing. The majority of these tumors is associated with sporadic tumor-induced osteomalacia (TIO) or rickets, affect middle-aged individuals and are located in the extremities. Previous imaging studies often focused on seeking the causative tumors of TIO, not on the radiological features of the...

AN UNUSUAL PRESENTATION OF EXTRARENAL MALIGNANT RHABDOID TUMOR OF SOFT TISSUE: A CASE REPORT AND REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE

Extra renal extra cranial malignant rhobdoid tumors (MRT) are rare, frequently lethal and affect mostly children. No definite treatment has been made and the role of radiation therapy is poorly defined. This report explains a 14 year old girl with MRT in her neck soft tissue. She is alive with no evidence of disease 18 months after diagnosis. Through the experience with this case, we suggested...

Angiomatous Meningioma: CT and MR Imaging Features

giomas on computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are easily identified and hence, easy to diagnose (1). However, certain meningioma subtypes have unusual imaging findings, making it difficult to diagnose them as well as determining the appropriate treatment protocol. This is particularly true for rare meningioma subtypes, which include the angiomatous meningioma, which sh...
